Conference Overview
The Philippine Consortium of Microbial Resource Centers (PCMicRo) represents the next chapter in the evolution of the Philippine Network of Microbial Culture Collections (PNMCC), expanding its long-standing mission from culture collection to a broader national network of microbial resource centers.
Continuing the mission and tradition established by PNMCC over the past 25 years, the 1st Annual Symposium and General Assembly serves as PCMicRo’s inaugural gathering, bringing together researchers, government agencies, academic institutions, industry partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and advance microbial science and innovation in the Philippines.
With the theme, “Microbial Resource Centers for a Sustainable Bioeconomy: Enabling Innovation from Discovery to Application,” the symposium will feature plenary lectures on microbial diversity, biobanking, and the translation of microbial resources into applications for agriculture, food, environmental sustainability, and industry. The program also includes scientific poster presentations, exhibits, and the Consortium’s General Assembly, providing opportunities for scientific exchange, networking, and strategic discussions on the future of microbial resource centers in the Philippines.
As PCMicRo’s first annual symposium, the event marks a significant milestone in strengthening the country’s microbial resource network and fostering partnerships that will advance the responsible management and utilization of microbial resources for a sustainable Philippine bioeconomy.
Participants who will attend the conference will earn four (4) credit units for the renewal of RMicro and SMicro certification.
